3D T-Rex Head What Cake Sizes Or Where Do I Start?

A customer sent me this picture of a great T-rex head and wants me to create this..I emailed the person on Flickr etc and have had no response so if it is your picture..please reply!!
I would like to know what cakes they started with etc..I kinda know where to start but would like an easier way..

Wow that looks incredible!!! Not sure where I'd start either! lol! But... I guess maybe I'd stack a couple rectangular cakes on top of each other and carve from there.. using the cutoffs to do the molding of the eyes etc? Not sure if that's exactly the sort of answer you're looking for.. or if you were thinking of more detail than that?
