I made some Marshmallow Fondant last week and I have some left over. I want to use the left overs for my daughter's birthday cake that I will be making July 10th because it already has color added to it.

I read that MM fondant can last a long time in the refrigerator. Can someone that has experience with this (not just reading about it) tell me how long it will last in the frig?

Thanks in advance
Tammy

I made a batch of MMF and it laster, FOREVER! I didn't refrigerate mine though, my recipe had nothing perishable in it. Wrap it tight and lightly coat with crisco before wrapping and I it will last for you no problem, in my opinion. HTH!

True, it lasts for many, many months unrefrigerated. (Do marshmallows really have an expiration date? They may dry out.) If MMF gets too dried out and you think it'll be harder to knead than to make a new batch, then it's time to throw it out!

Yes, marshmallows do have an expiration date. The Fondant can "last" for a very long time but the problem is bacteria. I wouldn't eat it after a couple of weeks but I did try freezing some and it seemed to be o.k., although I didn't try working with it. I've heard/read
conflicting info about whether its o.k. to refrigerate or freeze it.
