I need to bake 2 small grad caps for Sunday. A friend loaned me a small 3 cup glass pyrex bowl since I couldn't find anything in my local stores. It says no range top & no broiler on the bottom of it....but it doesn't say 'no oven'. Has anyone ever put one of these in the oven, with no problems? She mentioned that I might could try wrapping the outside of the dish with aluminum foil? Would that work?

Thanks,
Crystal

That's what Pyrex is all about. Freezer to oven, dishwasher and microwave. Shouldn't be a problem at all. It's just not meant to be on a direct heat source/ flame, hence the no burner or broiler warning.

I bake with pyrex in the oven all the time with no problems. No need to wrap it.

Yep you can! I put in measuring cups in there all the time... to make cookie bowls!

YAY!!! Now I don't have the fear that it will bust. My friend said she didn't mind if it busted, but I told her I'd ask first to be sure. I thought I had read somewhere before that Pyrex was oven safe, but I wasn't sure about this little one. Thank you so much for the quick responses!

And great idea about the cookie bowl! I will have to try one some time.

Thanks,
Crystal
