Mini Cupcake Pricing Question
Baking By hollyheartscuppycakes Updated 4 Feb 2011 , 9:21pm by SleeplessBaker

Good Morning!
So I was asked to make 4 1/2 dozen mini's for my work. This will be a monthly thing for birthdays. They want to stay in a 38-40 dollar price range. Is this reasonable? I'm not really looking to make huge profit-I really just want to cover the cost to make them.
So I this is what I thought...
54 cupcakes @ .75 each
that would be $40.50
What do you think?

On average I charge 0.75 for my minis, ordered by the dozens so this sounds reasonable to me. The big thing you need to evaluate is if you are covering your costs. If you are and you want to fufill this order on a monthly basis then go ahead, but if you aren't covering costs, up your price or politely decline.

Thanks for the comments!! I think I'll go with .75each and run a trial this month and see what the cost comes out too.
Have a great weekend!!

Wow I feel like Im way overpriced on minis now. I charge 1.25 for minis. Ouch sorry customers LOL, hey they don't complain and keep ordering so shhhhhhhh!

SImply Southern, apparently you are worth it Also I think location has a lot to do with it. If you don't mind me asking what do you charge for a regular cupcake? I thik that helps with perspective. You generally get 24 regular or just over per cake batch and 50 mini's. Mini's should have a slight upcharge because you have the extra liners, I'm not sure if they take less or more frosting than 1/2 a cupcake...I'll have to pay attention next time I make them. I love mini's but a full batch always looks like a never ending line of cuppies to me

I charge $3 for std size cuppies. Used to be $2 but hello buter prices, PS prices and lord don't even ask about berries for fresh fillings ugh! I've not had any complaints about price increase yet so that's good LOL hate raising prices but a girls gotta run a business ya know!

I got 7 dozen mini's from one doctored mix. >75 each sound good to me.
