Are Fresh Orchids Safe To Put On Cakes?

I am doing a wedding cake on Sat with orchids on top and surrounding. I am not sure if they are poisonous or not. I have googled but haven't got a straight answer...does anybody know?

According to Google, they are edible...

The American Medical Association "Handbook of Poisonous and Injurious Plants" does not list any Orchidaceae as being poisonous.
