If you run the solution through the air brush, is that sufficient for cleaning it after use, or do you need to take it apart and clean the individual parts? Also, when you change colors, do you use the cleaning solution between colors? Is it food safe, or do you need to dry it out somehow? Thanks!

I actually wasn't aware that you could use water through the airbrush? I was under the impression you could only use the solution. That's good to know. Thank you.

Okay, you rinse the airbrush out with water, then use everclear (some use vodka) I am an everclear girl, to do the final spray out. It will dry the airbrush and the needle. and due to the high alcohol volume (95%) it will also sanitize the airbrush. you dont want the needle to stay wet, so always use a high alcohol to dry it out.

Thanks for the tip on cleaning with alcohol. So, does anyone use the solution that comes with the airbrush? Guess it's not necessary. Thanks so much.

The airbrush cleaning solution is great for getting food color stains off your skin. Don't ever spend your hard earned cash on "airbrush cleaning solution" tho. It's Windex. icon_smile.gif

It's basically watered down Windex. You don't have to worry about it getting on food because you have to run 2 cupfuls of clear water through it after the cleaner.

It is helpful to pull the airbrush apart from time to time to get the built up gunk out. I don't think you need to do it every time.

AThe machine I received says to use a 50/50 Windex to water solution to clean out my machine. My machine is for cake decorating. But I am New to all of this, so I can't say whether it would be better to use the 50/50 mix or vodka.
