I worked at a shop where a 4" single layer smash cake was $10, iced white usually, with no filling, and minimal decoration to coordinate w/ the cake - not be a mini replica of it. Since it's for a baby, I always thought that less sugar/decoration was a good idea.

I charge the same per serving as the rest of the order. I usually suggest making the smash cake the top tier. People always want a grand tiered cake for a first bday but only have 20-30 guests so that way I dont have to sell more cake than they need and they dont end up with a plain smash cake and a small sheet cake.

I throw it in for free with minimum of $100 order.

I make a 6 inch cake and charge $25.00.It still takes me time to make and decorate a smash cake so I can't afford to give anything away...

Whats a smash cake?

A smash cake is usually a 4 x 3 inch cake for baby's first birthday. Since one year olds don't have the concept of eating with a fork down pat they usually just "smash" their hands into it and "smash" it into their faces.

5" round free with purchase of cake for 1st bdays only
I do a 4" and decorate it at my discresion. I will get it to match the cake, but the customer only gets to pick flavor (and it either has to be the same as the cake or white or chocolate, i'm not making a special flavor since it's free)

same here,
smash cake is the same flavour as the main cake, one 4" layer, not filled, iced simply and decorated simply to coordinate with the main cake, no charge with 1st birthday cake. $5 is they want a smash cake for a 2nd or 3rd bd cake.
