I've had my mixer for a few years now and have never had any problem with it. Tonight when I was making buttercream it started making this odd noise and shaking and vibrating as it mixed. I turned it off quickly to make sure the bowl was attached properly and it was. The shakiness isn't so bad on low but it's definitely not as smooth as it usually is. When I put it on medium or high though it looks like it might shake right off the counter. I love my mixer and I don't want it to die! Is there anything I can do to fix it?

It's a 6qt professional series 600.

my mom's Classic model is doing this. I have to hold the head firmly in place as it's mixing to keep if from wobbling. I think there is a screw or a pin or something that needs to be adjusted to hold the head in place. I just asked this question on another thread about KA

Make sure it's adjusted properly. The blade may be scraping the bowl.
