Hi,
I am new to cake decoration and have recently begun to decorate them for foster children. I am always struggling in the ideas department. I need to make a graduation cake for a boy that has a favorite color of red, likes red velvet and enjoys basket ball. Does anyone have any ideas to incorporate basket ball with graduation?
Thanks so much for any advice.

What about something like "It's a slam dunk!"

Or if you are making a graduation cap, make the bottom a basketball and the mortar board laced like a net?

I have been trying to think a phrase just like that, one to incorporate the sport and graduating. That one seemed to work best, thank you! I thought about the basket ball too, and to balance the cap on it, but the cap is red and the ball being orange, I wasn't sure. I get hung up on early on, as you can see. lol
Thank you so much!

I just did a cake for a football graduation party and placed the ball (rice crispies) on grass with a tassel next to it. it was simple but fun cause the football looked so real! icon_biggrin.gif
