My daughter requested a chocolate cake with oreo cream cheese filling and chocolate icing for her birthday cake. I have been looking online and found nothing for oreo cream cheese filling. Anyone have any suggestion on how to make this or have this recipe?? Thanks!!

I did a baby shower cake for an oreo-loving mommy-to-be recently. I used devil's food cake and filled with an oreo-like filling. I experimented until I was please with the consistancy and taste so I'm giving approximate measurements. The results were delicious and I got many compliments. I started with a vanilla butter cream that is 1/3 butter with 2/3 crisco. The cake was frosted with chocolate butter cream.

Oreo Cookie Filling
1 C Vanilla Butter Cream
1 Pint Heavy Cream
1/2 Package Oreo Cookies crushed into large pieces

Add 1-2 Tbsp heavy cream to buttercream to thin consistancy. Stir Oreo pieces into thinned icing. Using mixer beat 1 cup or more of cream until medium peaks form. Fold whipped cream into icing and cookie mixture.

I use a mix of buttercream and whipped heavy cream, then add the oreo cookies. I usually stay away from a cream cheese filling/icing as much as possible due having to keep it in the fridge.

heres one i had saved back. whip 8 0z. cream cheese and 1/4 c butter.... mix in 1 cup at a time..3-4 cups powder sugar..... add in 1/2 t. vanilla.. stir in 3/4 cup crushed oreos. i make the one from the wbh book. it is whipping the cream... add some few tbs. 10x sugar and then adding 20 crushed oreos. which is delicious.. but you want a cream cheese one. so i hope this has helped you...anything with cream cheese is delicious! one recipe called for cooled melted white chocolate added to this mixture. sounds good too.!!

I have made a really simple version many times by just mixing my buttercream with alot of crushed oreos. People always rave about it!! I think it would be awesome with cream cheese icing too- can't wait to try it myselficon_smile.gif

So am I hearing you right SpecialtyCakesbyKelli that you don't have to refrigerate things made with heavy whipping cream? I have a recipe using that with any flavor pudding mix and was wondering if you had to refrigerate?

As far as the oreo...I just mixed oreos with my bc.
