Wilton Cake Turntable Woes.?..yes I Know It's "amateur

I had a 55% off at Michaels this week so I bought the Wilton Professional Cake turntable. It was originally 60.00 (yes I know you can't go by that 
. I just opened it and the plate wobbles a little.
Do the ones that you have wobble just a bit? I kinda hate that. I actually had played with one at another store awhile back and wobbled slightly also but I thought it was a flaw in just that ONE, now it seems it's a design flaw (maybe).
I don't want to spend a bunch of money on one because I am a beginner hobbist but I don't want to spend a penny on something that just makes the job harder.
Do any of you have the other cast iron ones, Ateco, Fat Daddio, PME and do they wobble? I would feel for sure the stainless steel one doesn't but that's out of my price range, esp with shipping.

My husband bought the Wilton one for me for Mother's day. It wobbled, so we took it back to the store, and opened the other two they had in stock and tried them, and they all wobbled. So I gave up on the Wilton one.

Omg, I can't even tell you how bad, wilton sucks!
It tilts, that's a good thing. My cakes actually slide off.
I have it-it does wobble, but it still gets the job done. I've used it for about 2 years and it's fine, really. Not perfect, but perfectly fine!
I use the Fat Daddio Cast Iron turntable. It's solid as a rock, no wobble at all.

I forgot to mention in my other post that all I use is the raised plastic one that Wilton makes...I think it's about a ten dollar model. Anyhow, it will hold a 14" round with no problems, or a 10" and 6" tiered with no problems. No wobbling and it turns nicely.
Someday I'll probably upgrade to the Fat Daddio one but for now my plastic one does the job.
If you are talking about the one that does angles.

The one I got doesn't tilt. It's just a cast iron one that looks like Fat Daddios. I guess it is a design flaw. I'm going to look to see how much I can get a better one for with shipping and take this back. It's a shame though because it cost me less than 30.00. I'm scared to get the plastic ones because I have a reallllllllyyyy tiny apartment kitchen (something like 12 sq ft) and I am scared of it getting bumped off the counter without much weight to it.

I don't think you can get those here. If so I haven't seen them. My sister has a really cool marble turntable about 17" and it works nice but she won't let me keep it..lol..she uses it in her kitchen. It was actually a cheese server or something she got for 5.00!!! But she got it awhile back.
I have that turntable and I hate it. The only time I use it is when my other one is also in use. I also think it's to tall. I use the raised white plastic one that Wilton makes to. Can't believe I paid so much for that dang thing.
Yes, mine wobbles, too. I use the cheapie Wilton $10 most of the time - but it doesn't roll smoothly all the way around sometimes, so if you're doing a ruffle or something, it can kind of throw you off. I need a better one, but haven't wanted to spend the extra money.

You might look for one of those at Ross, they don't have stuff like that all the time but sometimes they do

Actually that was supposed to be "my sisters turntable is about 12" not 17".

That's pretty interesting. I'm going to see if I can find one of those here to check out. Maybe they have one a little bigger than 9". I'm still a bit worried about it being plastic and lighter weight for fear of being bumped but I do want to check them out. I see it has ball bearings. That is what my sisters marble turntable has, I can see them. This Wilton thing...I think for more experienced people the wobble they could overcome but for me I need all the stablity I can get! Heck I am shakey enough on my own when I am doing something.

I picked up a couple of the iron Fat Daddios turntables when they were at that crazy Amazon price, and to tell the truth, it's my least favorite of all of mine. There's something wrong with it so that nobody where I have it positioned, it turns to a different spot. Bugs the piss out of me! I use all of my Wilton ones all of the time. I have the cast iron Wilton one and all of the others with the exception of the tilting model. I simply use a styrofoam wedge with some rubbery non-slip drawer liner to prevent it from slipping.

The one I have is iron and it is heavy! Nice smooth & stable rotation. That stinks that yours is wonky cakepro. I do like my Wilton green & white one though, I have heard that the tilting turntable is a waste of money.

They are designed to take quite a bit of weight so are stronger than they look. I put a large wooden cutting board on top so it's like having a large work surface that spins.

There was a 40% off coupon on Sunday and then a 15% off your total order. Our Michaels added them together and gave 55% off. I know some take 40% off then 15% off that amount but our did it the other way. The 15% off your total order was only from 5-9pm this past Sunday. I am sure they'll have it again.
A friend gave me a turntable and I returned it after using it one time. I started out using my stock pot turned upside down and a lazy susan that used to hold baby food and I just cannot get used to anything else. Best thing is that both have fulltime jobs in my kitchen when I am not doing a cake. The Lazy Susan usually sits on my table with condements on it and the stock pot well, in constant use.
I picked up a solid wood Lazy Susan turntable at IKEA for only $7!!!! If you have an IKEA near you I would go for it, if not you can order it online. It is called a Snudda Lazy Susan.
BTW, you can see the turntable in my pics. It's under most of my cakes.
HI: My Wilton wobbles too. So I use one I found at Ikea. It is wooden and made to put in the center of your kitchen table for condiments, etc. It is extra large, turns very smoothly, is totally stable and even has rubber grips on the bottom so it never budges. Was only about $10 I think. I LOVE IT.
