I want to make the whipped cream buttercream recipe from this website again, because I loved it so much last time. However, I am right out of meringue powder, and the closest place I know that sells it is 1 1/2 hours away. I checked our grocery store and they have nothing like it.
Anyways, is there something else I can use? Could I just use egg whites? How many would I need for 2 tbsp of meringue powder?
Thanks!

Do you have a health store or maybe even a gym/sports store close by? You should be able to buy dried egg whites there and you can use that instead - I can't get meringue powder, so I use it in exchange all the time with no problems! To use, just see on the packaging how many tsp/tbsp of dried egg = 1 egg white and use that amount for each 2 tbsp meringue powder. My kind has a 20ml scoop which equals 4 large egg whites, so I use 1/2 tbsp per 2 tbsp meringue powder - sorry if that's confusing! Hope that helps!

I use a product called "just whites" all the time (beings it's a lot cheaper and closer to me than meringue powder) I get it here in my regular grocery store. I haven't seen it at Walmart though.
