Hi all, I found out that kitchenaid had a coating drum attachment!!!!
(for jelly beans and smarties ect!)
But it is not listed on thier site (im in cananda and i checked both canadas site and USA)

OUCH on the price!

I know that there are sites selling the panning attachment for much less than listed above. I believe the lowest I have seen was approx $450. Not exactly cheap but a little better than $650. Try searching using the term confectionery panning machine and you might have better results. I have experience with the KA panner and it is only capable of making very small batches(I like to pan choc covered almonds). By small I mean approx 1 kg at a time so if you are looking for major manufacturing than this is not for you. For home use or R&D it is great. hth

i was looking into making jelly beans to add to my inventory (starting a business through the farmers market!)
so this wouldnt be big enought??
hubby thinks he could make one for my aid.
yes that was the one i saw.
are there any free staning ones maybe? bigger/ and or cheaper??

Actually I have heard from a few panners on a choc forum that a metal drum cement mixer works. These are freestanding and cost below $200. Haven't tried one myself but couldn't hurt to research it.hth
