I actually have a ton of Torani syrups and decided one day to use strawberry. They have a lot of flavors and if you have a Smart & Final by you, they usually have a bunch of flavors for like $4 a bottle.

Other than that the only thing I have used is extracts.

I use Sugarshacks buttercream recipe and lately I've been experimenting with different flavors of coffee creamer. French vanilla is awesome and I just tried the Italian Sweet Cream which was really good too! So I just use the flavored creamer liquid and then I don't have to use the creme boquet.

I use Magic Line's butter vanilla flavor. Works good for me.

My favorite is adding the Lorann Marshmallow flavoring to Buttercream frosting. Tastes great on almost any cake flavor too!

Question...Do you use the Torani flavoring syrups to replace the liquids and extracts in the BC recipes?

I actually make the batch of butter cream and then pour in torani to taste. If it thins it too much I have added more powdered suger to thicken it back up.

Im not sure, but I might use a different BC recipe than everyone here? It just has shortening, butter, vanilla, almond, butter flavor, salt and powdered sugar... Seems pretty standard.

I just figure you can play with the flavor as much as you want, if it tastes bad I throw it out and start with new ingrediants in the KA icon_smile.gif

My favorite buttercream is a berry buttercream. I actually use a strawberry daquri syrup and a frozen berry mix that has stawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries. I use is as a filling, and I swear if I didnt know it was pounds of butter I could eat the whole bowl by itself. icon_biggrin.gif

Well I use a SMBC and I flavor with not only extracts but curds, fruit purees, liquers, and chocolates. Yup, I think that covers it.
