Ladies, Cake Pairing With Wine?

Good Morning Ladies !
I have a question regarding what cakes go well with what wines?
Long story short, I have a non profit charity event that will be selling wine throughout the event which becomes another source of $$ for their cause (5$ goes to http://TheAsheFoundation.org for every bottle sold .)
Since i'd like everyone's tasting palette to be clean, Wouldnt it be best that I match a cake to the red wine & another flavor to the white wine?
So what flavors would work best for Red wine?
& ditto for White wine ?
Thanks a billion!

Sorry, I just can't see eating cake, followed by drinking wine, but I could be wrong. As far as pairing goes, you would need to find out what kind of white (chardonnay, pinoy gregio, etc.) & what type of red (merlot, cabernet sauvignon, etc. ). They all taste different & finish the palate different, & therefore are matched with foods differently.

I was thinking pink champagne cake with pink champagne for the tasting. How does that sound?

You can also bake a flour less chocolate cake or a chocolate raspberry truffle cake and serve it with a Cabernet. I have a recipe for a Boca Negra cake that goes really well with red wine.
For a white wine something lemon goes pretty well with it.
If you have any questions, just pm me. I know a little something about wine ( I own several wineries). I would be glad to help any way I can.
