I live way over on the west coast of Canada...I have never heard of Whoopie pies until recently and really wanna try them....I have a church picnic on Sunday I thought it would be the perfect place to try them....
So I was wondering, because I search the net for recipes and was overwhelmed at all of the different ones! What is your favorite recipe?
Thanks so much for sharing!!! I can't wait to try these bad boys!

I just made these last week for a bake sale our band kids were having. They were awesome! I used a 1/4 cup to measure the batter on the cookie sheets. I know the filling calls for a lot of vanilla, but it works! Let me know how they turn out!

I tried a very simple recipe a few weeks ago & according to my 3 sons, it was great! Of course, I don't have access to it at the moment! But, if you PM me, I'll be happy to share it. It uses cake mix + oil & eggs. The filling is a combo of marshmallow creme, vanilla & powdered sugar (I think). I was thinking of posting this to the recipe section but I haven't made it that far yet.
Minnie has a great suggestion...use an ice cream scoop to measure out the batter so everything is the same size. I put mine onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet & they turn out great.

Minnie- That sounds like agreat recipe what did you use for sour milk?

There is a pretty large thread about whoopies in the Business forum with some recipes. There are some recipes posted there too.

i used buttermilk. I tell ya, these are the best, kinda fudgy tasting~~~you got me wanting to make some more lol!

Minniepiper- that recipe looks wonderful! I called my bf to ask him to stop on the way home to buy shortening and marshmallow cream! Thanks so much for sharing- I can't wait to try the recipe!!!!

I think I am gonna try minnie's recipe first...then I am going to ahve to dig in to all those others on the other thread!
A whole new world!
Are they like the Oreo Cakesters?!

I have never had those (sad aint it). I'm betting they are much better since you will be making them from scratch. Let me know how they turn out!
