kidding aside....
just put it in the fridge if you want to keep it a long time or even freeze it.
and it should keep several weeks, even a month, capped and in a cool dark place on the self.
the alcohol content is high enough that "buggies" have a slim chance of growing.

In case anyone ever looks up Kahlua in the future and sees this thread, I've been using and drinking 30 year old Kahlua that's been sitting in a cabinet at my parents' house. It tastes delicious and nobody has ever gotten sick. But maybe Kahlua that old was different, I really don't know.

my current bottle has been through two winters and will make it for another month or so of this one occasionaly use it in cakes but usually just a bit in coffee when it's really cold! never noticed it going bad, and I've done this with several bottles over the years.

I didn't know alcohol had a shelf life. Hmmm, around my house we drink it until the bottle is empty.

Here ya go. Scroll all the way to the bottom of the page. http://www.esquire.com/style/answer-fella/show-cars-0408
