I made a white chocolate cake recently for a friend's group of co-workers for a baby shower. They need a retirement cake now and my friend says everyone really liked the white chocolate so she wants that again. I'm wondering if there'd be another good filling for this - last time I used a raspberry filling. What do you recommend?

I'd use a fruit filling like raspberry, cherry, or strawberry.

Can I ask what recipe you used for the White Choc. cake? I have one but it lacks some of the choc. flavor I am looking for. By the way, I fill it with white chocolate truffle and rasp. puree filling icon_smile.gif

This is my recipe...

6 ounces white chocolate, coarsely chopped
1 box plain white cake mix (Duncan Hines)
2/3 cup water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
3 extra-large eggs
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Does this look any stronger than what you've used? IMO, this is a very subtle flavor but I like that.

What's your white chocolate truffle filling recipe? I used a white chocolate cream cheese frosting with this before and then the raspberry filling. It is yummy; not sure if I'll change it or just go with it again. Thanks for the ideas.

...what about a cheesecake filling or a white chocolate cheesecake - maybe an actual white chocolate cheesecake layer between the white chocolate cake layers!?

I guess it would be as strong a flavor as mine....I use the DH white with a pkg. of white choc. pudding mix, white choco. yogurt, and I am supposed to use white chcoc. creamer but can't find it so I use milk(and then the flour, sugar, etc..) and I think that is where I am missing some flavor. I am going to add the melted white chocolate next time and see what happensicon_smile.gif.

The truffle recipe:
16 oz. cream cheese softened
4 cups white choc. chips(2 bags)
1/3 cup butter
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla (clear)
2 cups PS

-Beat cream cheese. Melt chips and butter in microwave. Beat into cheese. Add vanilla & PS. Beat well.
It is really good! Also can be used with milk choc. or semi-sweet! I have used this as a cake filling and piped into cupcakes!
It is from Macsmom's awesome recipes!!!!
Thanks for your help with the cake recipeicon_smile.gif

OMG...white chocolate cheesecake for a filling sounds awesome!!!! What about a peaches and creme filling between the white chocolate cake? Maybe for a lighter taste?
