My cousin is getting married and has asked me to help her make cookies for her rehearsal dinner...keeping with the movie theme of her wedding. They are getting married in an old movie theater. She is thinking movie, movie tickets, etc for the cookies.

Only prob is that they have to be pretty easy cuz we will be making the night before and I have to bring all the supplies on the airplane.

Any ideas?

the "clacker board"... that thing they clap shut to get sound sync. -- usually has title of film and which scene and take....could use their names for the title and the date for the scene

edited to add:

and what would a movie be without --> popcorn...so cookie like a popcorn bucket?

I think ticket stubs would be cute, if you could get edible images that had the time, date, and something like, now playing The Wedding, starring, and put bride and grooms names...

I just did a walk of fame star for a movie themed engagement party. I used a heart logo where the camera or music logo would usually go and put the names of both people on it. It can be as large as a square as you need and still be a single tier (easier for set-up and travel). Check out my pictures to see it.

OOOPS! I just noticed you were talking about cookies--walk of fame star might still work.

Will you be able to bring the cookies already baked? I've travelled successfully with cookies in tow. In fact, I've travelled with decorated cookies! Maybe you could make them at home and bring them already decorated?

I have a ticket stub cookie cutter, so I know they're available. I think the clapboard would be too labor intensive considering your time constraints. A film reel iced grey with black dots around the edge and maybe a monogram in the center would be pretty easy!

My cousin will be making the cookies and I will bring the decorating tools with me.

Thanks for all the great ideas.

This sounds like a neat idea. I tried doing a cookie bouquet for one of our employees at the movie theater for her birthday and make it movie themed. Unfortunately, my cookies spread out too much that I couldn't use them. There are a couple of websites online where you can buy special cookie cutters in movie shapes, like a bucket of popcorn, a clicker board, or an Academy Award trophy. If you want to go for something a little more simple, then the movie ticket idea would be great. Just do a rectangle cookie and write "Admit One" or whatever else you want on there. If you have a round cookie cutter, you could do a movie real. Another use for the rectangle shape is to do a bucket of popcorn and do red and white stripes.

BTW, can I ask you what they plan on doing at the movie theater for their ceremony? We held a wedding at our movie theater over 5 years ago; a couple who have been regular customers of ours asked us if they could use the theater for their wedding. The way they set it up was really neat. Five years after the wedding, I made them a popcorn cake (picture is in my photos).

Got a source for edible images? I made this clapper board as a stand alone next to movie reels groom's cake. Using photoshop their names and date can be put in the appropriate spots. It could be put on a rectangular cookie and piped along the edge with black RI. Will dry overnight and can be packaged in cello bags with ribbon.

Don't know why I can't add the image. PM me and I will forward it to you. It is a clapper with the the title of the movie ______ & ________ Get Married. The Roll number is 1 and the productions company is the bride and groom. You might be able to see it in my photos with the movie reels cake.

If you need help adding their names, etc. I will be glad to help. I can also help with the edible images if you don't have a source.
