I've made this one twice, it's from paula deen. It's moist and dense and should do fine for fondant. I plan to use it this weekend for my daughter's birthday..

You could use the WASC recipe with a Strawberry Cake mix and add some fresh or frozen strawberries to the mix.

I used this recipe http://cakecentral.com/cake_recipe-4403-11-Strawberry-Cake.html and covered it with fondant for my airplane cake. Quite good and the people loved it. I was very pleased with how it held up.

Although I've never tried it with fondant, I use the Strawberry cake from scratch recipe in teh recipe section (that's literally the name) I use half heavy cream and half sour cream for the milk, and I love it. It does seem like it would be sturdy enoguh to hold fondant (I am planning to test that in a couple months, maybe sooner on my prototype). Good luck.

I've used this recipe: http://www.cakecentral.com/cake_recipes_rate-4403-5.html that is simply called "Strawberry Cake" with excellent results.

Hi. Im just wondering if you could help me! I looked at that recipe for the strawberry cake there and it sounds great....I need a strawberry cake recipe for the top tier of a cake so its going to be going in 2x 6inch cake tins. Can anybody help me adjust that recipe to fit the tins. I am useless at adjusting foreign recipes!
That recipe is for 3x9inch cake tins!! I will be two or three 6 inch tins, depending on the height of the cake....
