I am getting ready to make sugarshacks icing and can someone tell me how many cups of ps = 5 lbs?

It's a little less than 4 cups a pound.

If you have access to a BJ's or Sam's Club or Costco, it's worth the price of membership to have the ability to purchase your PS from there. They come in 4-lb bags. When I make my bc, I use Sugar Shack's recipe altered for my 5 qt KA. I use one 4-lb bag of PS and 4 cups of shortening. Works like a charm and I don't have to measure icon_wink.gif.
