What Goes With A Butter Pecan Cake???????

I was wondering what filling I would use and what flavor of Butter Cream would go well with a Butter Pecan Cake???????
Thanks!
Susie

I just made the world's best butter pecan cake for my birthday. I used the WASC recipe, but used a butter pecan cake mix, a tablespoon of vanilla, no almond flavoring, and I replaced 1/4 cup of the water with Maker's Mark. You could use any bourbon though, that's just what kind I had on hand.
I filled it with chocolate buttercream (made by mixing 3 squares of bittersweet chocolate, melted, with about 2 cups of Indydebi's crisco-based buttercream) and then frosted it with plain, vanilla buttercream.
It tasted amazing.
I've made it also with Jack Daniels instead of the Maker's Mark, and with vanilla buttercream, and it was excellent then too.

I make butter pecan icing or Caramel icing when I make butter pecan cake. I use the butter pecan coffee creamer and ice cream carmel sauce for the icing I mix it in bettercream or buttercream wichiever I have on hand.

WOW, I never got notification of any replies. Thanks girls! Everything sounds yummy.
Appreciate your help,
Susie

I'm a little late, but my family's favorite it butter pecan cake with this caramel filling http://www.cakecentral.com/cake_recipe-4053-Caramel-Filling.html and chocolate SMBC.

I'm also a little on the late side, but I made a pecan cake with orange cornmeal ( I know, sounds weird but is delicous) filling and a maple buttercream. Was Great.

I just made a maple SMBC that goes great with spice cake, I bet it would go great with butter pecan.

farnazmom3 I just used the Butter Pecan cake mix.
I ended up just putting BUTTER flavoring in my buttercream and used that for a filling and the icing. IT was great but I plan to use these suggestions that I got now that I "KNOW" what to use.
