I need help! I have 4 dozen cookies due tomorrow afternoon. I planned on decorating them tomorrow morning with RI, but I noticed my cream of tartar expired october 2007, but it is not open. Will it be ok to use? I really don't have time to go buy some. PLEASE HELP!!

It's fine. Cream of tartar is tartaric acid. It can't go bad. IT CANNOT GO BAD.

It is only one year past "date" and it is still sealed. I would use it. And as my aunt told me, they did notput dates on things, you went by how they smelled if they were bad.

It's idiotic that there is a date on it. It's tartaric acid, commonly left over after wine making. IT CANNOT GO BAD. There is nothing in it to go bad. It's not perishable. It's a chemical. IT CANNOT GO BAD.
