So I am a college student with no experience in baking (none, what-so-ever) I am throwing my best friend a babyshower and the theme (which matches her nursery) is jungle animals.....I would like the cake to at least match the colors (light and dark green, tan, browns, with yellows, and orange as well) if not be jungle themed as well.....I haven't found too many ideas on line.....can anyone give me any suggestions? It would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I know it's not a cake per se, but, they're easy and all the rage right now! maybe try something like this ..

then you dont have to worry about your experience (or lack of) with decorating, AND you'll still be an awesome friend. It looks like the trees are made of fondant and pretzles, that might be tricky, but you could A) practice your fondant skills or B) by the plastic ones! (the same goes for the animals!
hope this helps!

I made this jungle cake. The cake was really easy - just two circle cakes, stacked on top of each other, frosted with a tan frosting. Then I added some green frosting grass. The animals actually only took me about an hour to make. You could make it simpler by just making one round cake and making a monkey or two on top.

Alternatively you could make a monkey cake. Type it into google - you'll get some cute results.
