I am making a butter pecan flavored cake but not sure what flavored icing would go best with the butter pecan cake to enhance the taste. I think the plain ole butter cream would not enhance the cake flavor. Any ideas?

Oooh maple!! I love that combination of flavors, pecan & maple. Best of luck!

I have a recipe I am going to try using the coffee creamer Southern Butter Pecan in the cake, and thought I would try it in the buttercream as well.... you might consider it......

I'd use a Penuche or caramel.
I second this!!! Paula Deen makes a really good caramel (I didn't like the cake but loved the icing) and I think I subbed in dark brown sugar too. Made me swoon.

When I make that cake, I use a butter pecan filling, and then frost with a cream cheese frosting. The Butter Pecan Creamer sounds yummy too!!

I recommend butter pecan cake with chocolate cream cheese icing. It's so decadent!

I tried a butter pecan cake last week for the first time. I used a burnt butter frosting. It was delicious. I'm not sure if there is a recipe on here, but Martha Stewart did one a while ago, I'm sure that it's on her website somewhere.
