Hi everyone. I am looking for a lemon icing recipe. I am making a lemon birthday cake next week and thought lemon icing would be good. Also, if you have anything extra that you add to a lemon box mix, could you please share? Thanks in advance!

I've done it two ways - I make my regular/vanilla BC recipe then I've added some lemon flavored Lorann oil (only about 1/8 tsp per batch) - that is easy.
I've also squeezed in the juice of one lemon + some lemon zest which I liked even better.
I use Duncan Hines box mixes and I added a box of lemon instant pudding.

you can also make a glaze, poke the cake with a fork and put the glaze on first then ice.
Glaze with juice of one lemon and one cup icing sugar....I also put a box of lemon jello into the cake batter, you can also use lemon pudding too.
Yum, Yum....

I like to mix some lemon curd with a white chocolate cream cheese frosting or even some lemon curd with a good BC. I use the same lemon curd as my filling. This is after I make a syrup with lemon juice and simple syrup to drizzle over the cake to make moist and extra lemony. OK I am a lemon junkie but I admit it
