How Do I Make "eggplant" Purple?

what combination of gel colors do i use to get this shade? eggplant - some call it plum.... ?

it's that really really almost black purplish color isn't it. ummm
try this combo,
purple, itty bitty bit of yellow and black

yellow?

i have heard that with yellow buttercream, if you add violet, it cancels out the yellow and makes it white.

so wouldnt the yellow just cancel out the purple and make it lighter?

guess i have to experiment some

I found this on the ladycakes.com website.

Eggplant Mix Navy Blue into the amount of icing you are going to use for your project. Then mix Super Red into a smaller amount of icing. Add the Super Red icing to the Navy Blue icing until you get the eggplant color you want.
You can also try it with Royal Blue instead of Navy Blue, depending on the shade of eggplant you want.

i'm coloring fondant, so i assume the same principal will apply...a batch of dark blue, a small batch of red...kneed together.
