Hey all,
I need a recipe for a Chocolate icing/frosting to go on a yellow cake? I want a nice chocolatey one (that I can get smooth) that I can put fondant dots or stripes on to jazz it up. However, I don't like the wilton chocolate buttercream recipe (not chocolatey enough). Any recipes would be greatly appreciated. Also, I will be filling in the layers with it.
TIA,
S

Chocolate Fudge Icing-
1/2 c. butter
2 tsp vanilla
4 cups powdered sugar
1 c. cocoa powder
1/2 c. milk (a little at a time until you get the right consistency)

I use Vahlrona Cocoa Powder...it's the BEST (but can be hard to find). This makes a very rich, dark, fudgey Chocolate buttercream (you can see it on my Mum cake in my photos). I have also taken the finished icing and mixed with regular BC to get a more milk chocolate BC and I recently mixed about a 1/4 cup of the finished icing with a container of Cool-Whip to use as a filling...it was very good!!!

One recipe I tried was Hot Fudge Frosting. I got it here at CC. Just go to recipes and look under Frostings and you should be able to find it. It was very chocolatey. Hope this helps!! icon_smile.gif
