Does anyone know where I can purchase cake flour in bulk? Im tired of buying the little boxes and was hoping I could get it in 20 lbs or more?

Thank you
Kim

i've been looking for what seems like forever and I have yet to find it. I am anxiously watching this one. I have read that you can use regular flour and when the recipe calls for a cup use 7/8 instead. I have made sure to read the ingredients for cake flour and if you look hard enough you can find "regular" flour with the same ingredients. I've been doing this and haven't run into any issues.

Thank you BaileyGirl... I will check it out.

As for the Cake flour... I actually had a recipe for it but it doesnt seem to work too well for me like the real thing. I live in a High Humid area... (30 min from Ocean) maybe that has something to do with it.

wow, $50 is alot for a 50# bag of flour...I pay under $20 for a 50# bag at Cash & Carry. I don't know if you have that where you are but we get all our flour there. They have an awesome selection of all different kinds of flour. The kind I get is Swan's Down brand.

I bought some cake flour from a local bakery once. (Schmidts) I think it was at least a 20 lb bag but I don't remember how much it was. They were really nice about it. You might call a bakery near you and ask. Wouldn't hurt.

what a wealth of information everyone is... that is why I love CC

Thank you. I will try each avenue. I wish I could go to a local bakery... but there is only one and for some reason they think Im competition... they have the market cornered. I just do simple stuff... maybe they see potential I dont??? (wink wink)

(If I keep smiling they will keep thinking Im up to something... I love to keep them wondering (grin)

Let me throw something else out there.. how about Almond Flour?

Im curious as to how do get that. I have an awesome recipe for Hazelnut Cake made with almond flour... but Im hesitant to try it because it might be a bit pricy for me?

Any experienced people??

I buy my cake flour in 50# bags from Dawn Foods. If you have one near you they may have a will call desk. I think it's around $20.

For real....50 dollars for 50 pounds is quite steep. If I were to get 25 of the 2 pound boxes, I'd still come out cheaper aaaaaaaaaaaand I wouldn't have to pay shipping.

I would definitely check into Dawn or Bakemark or some other distributor.

yea, the $50 is expensive now that I look at it. But, for me, the 22.95 would work if the shipping were reasonable. I don't have ANYWHERE near me that sells bulk cake flour!
