Help! I Used Too Much Vanilla By Accident!

Ok, so I just made a big batch of buttercream and instead of using the teaspoon measurement, I used the tablespoon I then made a batch of buttercream with no vanilla in it and added it, but it's WAY
too sweet.
Can I fix this? I was thinking of taking some water disolving some salt in it and adding it to cut the sweetness - will this work?
I don't want to dump it and start over.

sorry to be impatient, but does anyone have any ideas???

I accidentally added tablespoons of almond one time instead of teaspoons. I made another double batch without any flavoring and mixed it in. It still had a pretty strong almond flavor but the filling on the cake was raspberry so I just played it off like I meant for the strong flavor to go with the raspberry. Everyone really liked it.
I would make another batch and add it in. I know you already made one batch but isn't a tablespoon like 3 teaspoons? So you'd need two batchs without flavor to balance the one tablespoon.

I do what Nikki does, I never measure either lol .. I just play around with it until I get it how I like it. It's funny because every batch is never the same, oh well..everyone still likes it and that's the important thing!

To me, there is no such thing as too much vanilla!
I ALWAYS put in extra vanilla. Recipe calls for 1 tsp .... I add 1 Tbsp. It's a safe bet that I triple the vanilla all the time.
I LUV vanilla!!
(and my measurements indicated above are guestimates since I rarely actually measure anything anyway!)

I'm with Debi, No such thing as too much vanilla! I use popcorn salt in all my icing recipes. It smaller grain and mixes in very easily. I will sometimes add a tad more salt to cut sugar sweetness but I never thought vanilla added sweetness. I'd say use it as is,no one else will think it's too "vanillaie". LOL
