When making a Christmas tree (piping with royal icing) what tip is best to use?

Also is it best to use an ice-cream cone and pipe onto that?

Thanks for any help/ideas you can give. And if Royal icing isnt the best way to do it I am sooooo open to any ideas

Cheers
Kathryn

Well, you can ice in BC if you want. If you want the whole cake edible go with the ice cream cone. The tip .... if you want a pine cone tree use tip 233. Starting at the bottom work up. Or you can use 352 or 67 tips. Your choice. Have fun.

If you scroll all the way down, there are some cool, free-form trees.

another way is to use fondant. Make a cone shape and stand it on the surface in front of you. Take a small pair of scissors and snip at the cone to make branches. You can dust with icing sugar to give a snow effect if you wish
