I loved this store when I lived outside of DC. He will need a car though because I don't think you can metro there. It's a great store.

Boy, I don't know of any stores in the dc area that is gettable through the metro or other rail. The store I go to and love is Fran's Cake and Candy Supply, but that's in Fairfax County. He can get by VRE or Metro as far as Burke or Vienna, but that's still 4-6 miles from either of the two.

Finding something that is close to public transport will be difficult! Sorry!

Oh Boy well can you tell me how much you think a cab ride would cost from Rennaissance hotel The mayflower in DC. To this place you are talking about? That would be so helpful maybe we can go that route? Thank you so much for your help. And do they have a website I could take a look at?

Taxi ride would be expensive. Like $35-$45 one way.

I truly think it would be cheaper just to order things online and pay for shipping than to pay for taxis and/or rail tickets.

Fran's doesn't have an online store. There is an online place in the DC area, but she doesn't have a store front... forgot the name of the place now. I'm not sure about other DC places. There has to be several, I'm just only aware of the one nearest to me.

The Little Bitts Shop in Wheaton, Maryland is accessible by Metrorail by way of the red line. Their number is 301-933-2733 or 1-888-809-2733. I think they are closed on Monday and other days they close at 5, 6 or 7, depending on the day so he should give them a call to confirm. If the hotel is near a metro station, he could take the red line to the Wheaton Station and then back to the station he started from. It would cost approximately $6 roundtrip. The shop is approximately 3 blocks from the metro station if he doesn't mind walking a little.

Here is a website of another shop. I'm not sure of their exact location or if they are near the metro but it wouldn't hurt to call and ask.

Hope this helps.
