Is there any way to make edible images ( I need them to stand up on the cake) without a printer. I'm a hobby baker and don't want to invest in a printer.

I'm thinking about chocolate transfers, but I like the look of the edible images attached to gumpaste better.

Does anyone know if I could use rice paper to make the image and then attach it to gumpaste?

Thanks!

Sure you could do that! Wafer paper and Food Doodlers will work well for this.

Thanks!

Should I follow the instructions for the Butterflies (posted here on CC)?

Also, should I attach with water? or piping gel?

Thanks so much! icon_smile.gif

I do this all the time, in fact I've even used regular printer paper to print my image out on and then used some elmer's glue, piping gel..whatever I have on hand and glue it to fondant and cut it out, see my shrek cake in my photos for an example. I just make sure to ALWAYS tell my customers that they are NOT edible. They never seem to mind..just make sure you let them know.

I have done it both ways. Food doolers if it is going directly on the cake and regular printer if goingh on a plaque. On my cigar cake I used the wafer paper dry on the RBC so it wouldn't adhere and told them not to eat it.

You can also do color flow. Color flow images will stand up on a cake.

How would I do a photo transfer? I need to do one for Friday and have never attempted it before. It's fine if they have to remove it before they eat the cake. I just don't know where to start.
They want it to look like an autographed picture and originally I was going to freehand something, but this would look much better.
Any help would be appreciated!
