I'm a cake mix doctorer. I have a customer who wants a banana flavored cake, but I'm not sure how to go about doing that. I made a pineapple flavored cake once by adding crushed pineapple and the juice with it to replace the water in the mix directions. Could I add mashed banana and water? Any other ideas? Anyone ever made a banana flavored cake?

Here's one from the Cake Mix Doctor website:

I've made the banana cake mix and used milk rather then water, melted butter rather then oil and four eggs. Plus I added one tsp of vanilla. Everyone loves this! I add walnuts if the person likes nuts.
I've had several people ask me for the recipe when I bake this cake.

My SIL wanted a banana cake. I found a great one on allrecipes.com. The title of the recipe is Banana Pudding Cake. It was a huge hit at our Thankgiving. My son now wants that flavor for his B-Day cake the 20th of DEC. his 16th. I hope this will help you

Where would I get banana extract and how much would I add? I thought about that, but had no clue how much to add.
You can get it in most supermarkets. Its in the spice/baking isle with all the other McCormick flavorings, rootbeer, maple, etc..
