ANybody ever buy the buckets of frosting or filling over by the bakery. Anything worth getting? How expensive is it? I just noticed some buckets of stuff underneath some of the baked goods and I didn't have time take a closer look.

I did non think that costco sold that stuff. I asked in the bakery one time if they sold their icing and they practically laughed in my face and send no. I would like to know if they have started to sell bulk that would be good as I like their icing not to sweet and they have good fillings. Let me know.

I went to my Sams Club and they priced a 15lb tub of whipped frosting at $22.24. I know its not costco but I'm thinking maybe they'll run the same??? It's what walmart uses.

I buy filling in the long bags from the supermarket, it costs less than the bakery supply store and it's fresher. Never bought frosting before. I read on CC that Sam's club will sell you a lot of bakery stuff.

i have bought buttercream from sams club, it costs around 26$ for a 5lb bucket and it last for 6 months after you open it. it tases alright if you like buttecream (i personly don't) its a bit firmer then the grocery store buttercream and not as sweet, but it is not as fluffy personally i liked working with it better then the buttercream i buy from the bakery the buttercream from sams club frosts so much smoother, they also sell bettercream (non dairy whipped topping) but i didn't buy that it costs i think it was 20$ for a bucket but once you open it you have to store it in containers in the freezer which for me is a hassel (prefer pastry pride quarts) and i have never asked if they sell fillings, they also sell 2lb tubs of ther colored buttercream but i don't know for how much. i hope this helps.

p.s-might want to ask your local sams club because not sure if they all sell to customers mine does but not sure about the rest.

Thanks for the info. Just wish I had a Sam's club close by...

By the way, I was at Costco last night and asked how much the 13" plastic cake domes were and they said that they don't sell them to the public. I imagine it's the same for all their supplies. But I'm not sure why they have them sitting out where customers can see them then. Oh well. Sounds like I'm better off just making my own as far as taste is concerned anyway.
