Does anyone have a very quick, easy, and terrific looking and tasting appetizer idea? I'm attending a Christmas party and have been asked to bring an appetizer -- not my area.

I don't want to do veggies with dressing. I would like to make something that will be memorable.

Thanks in advance.

Not too sure how memorable they would be, but really quick and easy. Just take cheese slices and sliced meat (deli meat, lunch meats, etc) your choid, and roll them up, add toothpicks and slice bite size.

My DIL makes a great one with canned whole jalapenos, filling with a cream cheese and nuts, don't have a recipe, but they are good! HTH Janice

Thank you for all of your suggestions. They are very helpful. Like I said, appetizers are not my area. Desserts...are my area. icon_smile.gif

Lahvishes (sp)

Take a tortilla, spread on cream cheese, layer deli meat and cheese, roll, cut into 1" increments. Lay on the side. Can also add lettuce, tomato, olives, those funky spreads from the deli. FI made them with lil weiners and they were great!

I may not be spelling this right, but I can tell you how to make them.

Rumake
-----------
Whole water chestnuts from a can
Bacon
Favorite BBQ sauce

Oven 350°. Cook bacon so it's still slightly soft. Cut bacon into 2" sections. Wrap one bacon piece around each whole chestnut. Secure with toothpick. Place in glass pan. Coat with BBQ sauce (just squeeze over evenly). Bake about 20 min until BBQ sauce just bubbles.

They basically taste like BBQ bacon - the chestnut flavor is pretty mild. I can eat a hundred of them! (and probably will in the next few weeks! icon_razz.gif

You could make cheese puffs using PateChoux, just mix in some shredded PepperJack or Gruyere.

Totally baky, easy and yummy.

When in doubt, pick up a tray of cold shrimp and cocktail sauce at the grocery. It's always a big hit at our family gatherings with EVERYONE, and it's no work! thumbs_up.gif

They won't care that you didn't make it ..... they'll just luv it!
