I have the ariel cake pan but no insert. I got the instructions off of here for it but it doesn't tell me how many cake mixes.

Does anyone have the insert that goes on the cake? I am hoping someone can scan it and email me the file so I can draw that part on the cake?

I am in a pickle! This cake is for my friend's little girl's birthday on Saturday.

Thanks!

Ashlee

On the CC home page on the left side in the purple part, there is a link to "pan instructions" - you can find most of the pan instructions here.

Here is the link to Ariel...hope this helps! http://www.cakecentral.com/wilton-pan-instructions-182-Little-Mermaid-Ariel-2105-3400.html

I said that I got the instructions off of here already. They don't tell you how much batter you need for the pan. Can anyone tell me?

I have a different Ariel pan than the one on this website. My pan is just her hair and face. (New in 2008 yearbook) If that is the pan you have, the directions say one 2 layer cake mix.

Sorry, hope this helps

Have you tried going to wilton.com and looking for the directions, or posting on their message boards?

Wilton character pans are designed to be one cake mix.
HOWEVER, not all boxed mixes are the same size and some people use scratch recipes. You will be safe to use 1 mix (or the scratch equivalent) and then an extender. Do you have a cake mix extender recipe? I have a good one if you need it. It gives it 'that much' extra for a nicely filled cake pan. thumbs_up.gif

I ended up using 1 and 3/4 boxes of DH and it worked great. Now if I can just figure out how to draw on the face without a decent pic to look at...UGH!

Thanks for the replies
