Has anyone done this? I've got myself in quite a sitch... I live overseas and our commissary doesn't have clear vanilla or butterflavoring. I , of course, am out of both! So I used the colored ones, ie. brown and yellow. So now my buttercream is tannish. Ugh! I am going to use an edible image, so I was wondering if I just tinted the frosting an aqua color if the image with still "Pop" ? Any thoughts? I've got to finish this tonight, so please hurry!

I would leave the area that edible image is going on the tannish color so that the edible image doesn't discolor.

I tell you this since I don't know what kind of sheet you are using.

I know that the frosting sheets are fondant based and are a little thick and you can place them on colored icing with not to much of a difference,

but err on the conservative side.

If your icing is tinted a color coordinating with the image it should work fine. I have a chocolate icing cake that I put an image on and it turned out pretty well, I think. Janice

Your icing will lend a color cast to your edible image. This will be particularly noticeable in light areas. White, especially. But, if it's a photo with flesh areas, for instance, if you put it over aqua icing, your person will look vaguely seasick. But, if you don't have white or really light colors in your image, you may not notice it - especially if your image colors are in the same family as as the icing color.
