someone had mentioned you could print coupons for michaels store off line. however their site said you can only receive them through the newspaper, that they are not online. so, being that i am over an hour from the closest michaels, i do not receive a paper. how would i go about getting a coupon to use today? would the coupon for this week be in this weeks paper, or last. i guess i would just go to the town and buy a local paper??

In our Sunday paper (which is delivered on Saturdays)I get coupons. I can't remember ever getting them in the mail. I have never found them on the internet.
Also, if you have JoAnn's coupons, you can use these at Michaels or for that matter any competitor such as a hobby store, etc. Michaels will accept. Hope this helps.

i know the Michaels in my area will give you the discount if you don't get the flyer... you go to the till and tell them that you live out of the area and don't get the flyer. They usually ask me to write my name and postal code on a list that they have. You could call the store and see if they'd do that for you too!

I just posted a questions to the Michaels company concerning your problem and I am waiting for a reply. I asked them if they would do a mailing for their customers that do no receive a newspaper and if they don't I asked if all Michaels stores accept coupons from Hobby Lobby and JoAnns. I told them that since they do not allow their customers to download coupons like Hobby Lobby and JoAnns that hopefully Michaels would accept the other store coupons. I will let you know what they say.

Michaels will not accept any computer printed coupons. They will take a Joanns coupon or Hobby Lobby coupon from the newspaper though. I would call ahead of time and talk to a manager to find out what they can do to accomodate you.

OK - here is what the usual is for Michaels>>>>

1. Most will NOT accept coupons printed from the internet (no matter for what store they are from)

2. They WILL accept coupons from a.) Michaels flyers b.) Hobby Lobby Flyers and c.) JoAnn's flyers - it HAS to be from their flyer, NOT the internet

3. IF you don't get a newspaper (or live in an area that does not have the flyers delivered) Tell the cashier and they will give you the 40% off - but you will have to sign your name and your zip code. That also has to be the week that they have an ad in the paper. (which is usually every other week - check to be sure you are trying to use it the week there is an ad!!) I think some folks get aggravated when the cashier won't give them the 40% off, but they only do it the week there is actually a coupon in the paper!
And Last, IF any of the cashiers give you a hard time ~ ask to speak to a manager. They usually know what the deal is. thumbs_up.gif

Thanks for the info QuadCrew. I've seen a coupon in the paper every week for the past month or so. I'm assuming they are doing it because of the Holidays and the need to push the merchandise so they aren't stuck wit a million Santa things in February!

I just wanted to add that the Michaels here put up a sign that they are no longer taking competitor coupons. They are always rude about the coupons/discounts, I hardly go in there anymore. I have had that with several cashiers, they act like it is coming out of their check or something. I do hope you all have a better experience than I have.
