O.K. after reading the long, but very informative topic as to what CCers learned the most from CC, there was a lot of talk about cake balls. I looked at the recipes & they are similar, yet different. I want to make them, but do not want them too sweet, so I will probably avoid the recipes with the condensed milk. Can people let me know which is their favourite cake ball recipe.

I read the article by OhMyGoodies, and it says to use liquid coffee-creamer..MMMM, but when I actually had some scraps and made them for the first time, i had some coffe left in my pot from the morning, so i used a little coffee and a little french vanilla coffeemate. They weren't too sweet at all! And I'm the only one in my house who likes coffee, so I got to eat them all! (sometimes I have to be sneaky...) I didn't have any baker's chocolate, so i just melted a cup or so of mini chocolate chips. Worked great! Can't wait to make more! an so simple... after reading the article, i didn't even check the recipes section for other variations! I can't waith to try different combinations!

I don't think there is a "best" recipe for cake balls...just whatever you like.
I have tried leftover white cake with a little buttercream mixed with seedless raspberry jelly. And white cake with a little buttercream mixed with orange food coloring and orange flavoring. And chocolate cake mixed with Vanilla Caramel Brownie liquid creamer. And chocolate cake mixed with Caramel Hazelnut Swirl liquid creamer. And white cake mixed with Southern Butter Pecan liquid creamer. And white cake mixed with Blueberry Cobbler liquid creamer. All were really good. There are a ton of combinations listed on the boards that people have tried. Let us know what combos you try! Have fun!!

Last week my BF bought me the wrong flavor coffeemate from the store. I wanted toffee-nut, and he said "what color bottle is it in" I told him to get the purple one, but he got the Blueberry Cobbler one. (guess he never thought to read the bottle )I tried it in my coffee and it just didn't do it for me. But I think it would be really yummy in a cake ball. What would go well with blueberry, though? I'd love something that tasted cream-cheesy, but that wouldn't harden. Any Ideas?
