Does anyone know how long the wilton color sprays last? I have cans that are from 2003 and my daughter wants to decorate her cupcakes. Please help!!
Thank you,
Lisa

Do they have an expiration date on them? If not, I'd say spray one and see what it looks like/tastes like. If it looks/tastes ok, I'd say it's probably ok to use.

I sent an email to Wilton earlier this year asking how long the color spray mist lasts (have some leftover from 2005) and this is their response:
Thank you for purchasing Wilton products.
Please be aware, the following information regarding Food Allergens, Food Sensitizers, or Food specifications is to the best of our knowledge believed to be accurate.
There is a seven digit number that is stamped/imprinted on the product. This represents the expiration date. The 1st digit is a letter and represents the color. The next two numbers represent the year. The following three numbers is the day of the year counting from January 1st. The last letter represents the batch number, please disregard. Wilton s color mist is freshest if used within 24 months of this date. Do not store above 120' F or below 50' F.

Sweetbaker, thank you. I did not find that information on the cans, however, I sprayed a little on some frosting and it did not look good nor did it taste right, so I threw them away. I did not realize I had them since 2003! Ouch. Thank you for sharing you information, I will store for later usage.
Lisa
