Use a grass tip. I am not sure which number it is but it is the one with all the little holes in the bottom. I think it is 288 or 282.

The grass tip is 233. I used it to make cookie monster cupcakes and they turned out really well.

I like the "grass tip". It has about 10 little holes in the end-that's it. When you squeeze and pull, it comes out like fur or grass.

Take a look at this page...

http://www.wilton.com/store/site/product.cfm?id=3E30DD64-475A-BAC0-5FBA791BBD7A052B&fid=3E3324C3-475A-BAC0-5DF027EB4874EBF7

you need the tip in the middle #234, with the multiple holes to do fur. It's commonly used for grass, and since he pretty much looks like that it would work. If you didn't have that. You could use a single hole tip, but that's going to take you forever, and be quite the wrist-ache. I would do startip if you have no other option, it wouldn't look bad.

You can use the grass tip Wilton 233. Or one of the smaller/medium star tips to pull out "fur".

why not do a basic 18 or 21 star tip....I've done that before, just pull up and the icing sticks up. do it all over and it looks like fur on oscar...I've done that for a cookie monster and it looked really good.

I'm from England and you can get those grass fittings for an icing gun - I use a clay gun and have several different sizes of 'grass' thing. I got rhew clay gun for about £7 off ebay and it comes with tonnes of different plates to fit in to the end - is it too late for you to get one or if the cake due asap?

If you don't have the grass tip, I think using a mixture of star tips...14, 16, 18, etc. would work. The different tips would make different size pieces of fur. It should look real cute. BTW: I think you do great work. thumbs_up.gif
