Okay, I might be stupid but this chart confuses me. When it says batter amount for 1 layer, does it mean 1-2" layer or 2-2" layers? I never normally measure out batter but I'm trying to figure how many times over I need to make my recipes for a wedding cake. Thanks!

you know the best thing I ever did was mark my pan where I knew the amount of batter should be to give me the desired height on my cakes....I could never go by the wilton chart..the layers werent very tall
