Baking By cakeatopia Updated 25 Oct 2006 , 1:09pm by KHalstead

can't seem to think straight. I sift my sugar and buy the 7pound bag so I can't just buy a bag and use it.

1 kilo gram is just over 2 lbs...does that help? if not let me know and ill go weigh some for you.

and how many cups in a pound? I need sleep--there is too much powdered suagr in the air. And I have a few more dozen to do tonight!

I may be wrong but I think the kilo equivalent is 2 lbs. 4 oz. There is 16 oz. (2 cups) per pound.

2 lb bag of powdered sugar has 30 , 1/4 cup servings in it.

Maybe this will help! It is a link to an online measurement converter, and should help you convert amounts for your recipe!

According to their measurement chart, 2 pounds = 907 grams (1 kilo=1000 grams). However they are also listing 2 cups (dry measure)=1 pound, but isn't powdered sugar 4 cups/pound? I guess because it is sifted it is lighter?
If you have a digital scale, you could reset it to metric, and the scale would figure it for you automatically!
HTH!

1 kg is actually 2.2lb to be exact. Here is Canada a bag of icing sugar is 1 kg.I believe it is about 6 cups.
