Divorced Joe Dimaggio and married playwright Arthur Miller. Later divorced him as well. Studied at the Strassberg school of acting. She said she never wore under garments because she didn't like wrinkles. icon_lol.gif

She was born a Gemini with Moon in Aquarius & Leo Rising. Marilyn had a mom that suffered from depression, so Marilyn was placed into both foster and adoptive homes as a child. Marilyn was subject to inherent depression, so it isn't surprising she ran with a criminal element and subjected herself to drink and drugs. She also made two suicide attempts.

Her aunt actually helped Marilyn get into movies.

Her Neptune was also in Leo, and poor Marilyn was destined to be a hopeless romantic. (Her emotions always got the better of her instead of her intellect). With Mars in the 8th house I wouldn't be surprised to find out she may have been interested in the occult. (Her Pluto in the 12th house also signals possible occult beliefs as does her Saturn in the 4th House...more occult, mysticism and hidden knowledge).

Her chart shows a distance from her father, and in fact she never knew him. Her chart also shows a large outer "force" at work, and I think this was the conglomerate we call show business.

Pluto conjunct Sun on top of that Gemini Sun made her a person of real extremes. She was either really clingy or kicked your butt to the curb...no in between.

I found this interesting:

"In 1955, an acting coach recommended that Monroe undergo psychoanalysis to tap into her "explosive energy." She started and eventually saw psychiatrist Marianne Kris, who prescribed the barbiturates the actress abused until her death. Of the psychoanalysis, Monroe said she felt "as if I were going around in circles. It was alwaysnot where I was going but where had I been?" In 1960, Monroe saw psychiatrist Ralph Greenson, whose control over her was swift, severing all her close relationships. By 1962, she realizedtoo latethat she must "disconnect from Greenson." After spending six hours with him, she was found dead of a drug overdose. In the seven years prior to psychiatrys influence, Monroe had made 23 movies. In the seven years of her psychiatric "care," she only made six films."

Ex- husband and close friend Joe DiMaggio stepped in to handle all the arrangements for her funeral and burial. After the funeral DiMaggio set up an account with a local florist to put roses on Marilyn's grave twice a week, for the next twenty years. It was a promise that he made to her on the night that they wed.

LOOOVE MARILYN! I have a great book that you can pick up pretty cheap at Barnes and Noble called Marilyn Monroe Unseen Archives by Marie Clayton. Full of fab pics and lots of info. I'm looking to see facts for ya....
Her first marriage was of convience to a man 5 years older than herself to keep her from having to return to the orphanage. When he was posted abroad, she lived with his mother who got her a job in a munitions factory. She was spotted by a photographer who featured her in many shots he took of women doing war work. He suggested for her to do modeling work and things took off from there. The publicity story was that she was a babysitter that had been discovered.

In July 1946 Twentieth Century fox offered her a standard six month contract of $75 per week and an option to renew after at double. Her first year consisted of bit parts in 3 B-movies.

I know I remember reading that at the height of her career she got voted as having the worst hair-do...people said it resembled a wet dog.

Good book if you are able to get one...I actually got mine on ebay for 99 cents plus like 3 bucks for shipping!!! Good luck

Sordid tidbit a day or two late.......she had to wear three pairs of panties under her famous white dress photo shoot, because the photographer continued to "see though" one and then two pair!

I learned somewhere that if she had to wear a bra, she had a seamstress sew buttons onto the front to make it look like you could see her n.....les through her top. Maybe not something for your daughter's report...but interesting nonetheless.
