A teacher in my cake class told us that Wilton colors can be "revived" if they get old and start drying out. I can't remember what she said to use....was it p.i.p.i.n.g. g.e.l?
I can't for the life of me remember....getting old I guess. Can anyone help me? Thanks!

I've used glycerin to try to get them back to useable, but I wasn't happy with the results. They remained thick and I was afraid that I'd ruin any icing that I tinted with them.
I actually wound up throwing them away and using a 40% Michael's coupon to buy the large box of multiple colors.
I suppose I could have used them to mix with alcohol and paint with them, but it just didn't seem worth the effort.

Thanks guys. My teacher was so sad when I told her I threw some old ones out! I used my 50% off all Wilton products just today and replaced a few. $1.57 minus 1/2 is really not that expensive!! I eventually intend to switch all of them over to Americolor, I really like them better.
Thanks again!

I've used vodka on mine and it works great. I've heard about using glycerine, but have never tried it. I had a lemon yellow that was almost empty and very gummy, but I needed it that night (of course). I added some vodka and mixed, but it wasn't mixing well. I let it sit for maybe 10-20 minutes and it had all disolved and was wonderful!
