Ideas Needed! Girlie Football & Twins 1 Year B-Day

Okay so I have two cake orders coming up - one is for twins (one boy, one girl) who are having their first year birthday. The mom wants a smash cake for the kids and then a larger cake for the adults - I have NO idea what to do though! I haven't had a chance to sit down w/ momma yet to discuss but my mother is actually their nanny so I've talked to her about it. I just don't know what to do b/c the kids aren't yet 1 so they aren't into sesame street or Barney or any of that - they dont' really have a "favorite" toy or anything...... so I need some ideas for one year old b-day party! I'd like to bring some ideas to the mother so that I can show her what I think I can do and have her choose from a picture instead of just trying to make something up in my head....
Okay second cake - a 40th birthday cake for a woman. The party is going to be tailgating at a football game. The person who talked to me about the cake said she liked my Steelers cake (in my photos) but wants something a little more girlie. The only other thing she said is the lady has two young boys - so um...... what can I do? Oh the team she likes is the U of L Cardinals - so red, black, and white are their colors. Any ideas would be appreciated!!!!

yeah I had the same problem when it came time for me to do my son's 1st b-day cake.....i loved the smash cake I did though (its in my photos) and super easy....it would be easy to do two 6 inch smash cakes with number 1's on them one girly and one boyish.... as for the main cake....perhaps the mom already has an idea....I went with colors that were in the party-ware that I picked out.... edited to say that I had only finished course 1 when I did my son's cake....I would like to think I could do better now!
as for the football cake, when i first read this I was thinking of just using more girly colors...but that is rough when the team is red and black! That said....I bet she would love the cake even if it wasnt girly at all (I know I would---as a fellow female football fan)....
good luck (sorry I am not more help)!

I recently did a football field sheet cake with a school's name in the endzone and their symbol on the 50 yard line. You could do something like this concept, only put the lady's name in one endzone, her birthday/age in the other endzone, and then come up with a creative design for the 50 yard line. You could use the cardinal colors on there, or some girly colors (pink, purple) to put the writing on. I used a star tip (white over all the enzone) and then did the writing on top with the star tip also. Looked very full and the recipient loved it. Hope this helps!

For my son's 1st b-day I did a Curious George theme. The big cake was the yellow hat (you know the man with the big yellow hat) and I made a little one for a smash cake. I think it would work for a boy and a girl b'c my daughter love's Curious George. The cakes were very easy. Oh, I also put a little stuffed Curious George on the brim of the big hat.

Maybe you could do a FBCT Steelers helmet, only using pink. Like the helmet all pink, a white circle with pink "stars" and "Steelers" in pink. Here is a page of Ladies Steeler stuff and there are some shirts, etc that are all pink: http://news.steelers.com/catalog/Ladies/ ONe of the shirts is totally pink, but with a normal yellow, blue and red symbol.
