Miss Spider And The Sunny Patch
Decorating By MariaLovesCakes Updated 20 Jul 2005 , 7:39am by missmersh

Anyone know of this cute little show on Nick, Jr.? I may do this theme for my soon to be 2 yr old and would love to see some cakes done on this theme?
Anyone?
Here's a pic of what she looks like...
Oh, I am trying to narrow it down as far as shows. My little one likes also:
Lazy Town
Elmo
SpongeBob
Yikes, I can't decide which one to do!!!

I love Miss Spider and the Sunny Patch! David Kirk's books are fabulous! The colors are amazing! My twin toddler girls love the show too
I'm not sure if they have actual coloring books on the series yet, but that would be a good way to go (buttercream transfer). All I've seen so far is some gardening tools at Target for little kids in this theme. Maybe there are some birthday decorations out there to get ideas from?
Good Luck! Be sure to post a pic of your cake! I'd love to see it

This site has Miss Spider printables--invitations/thankyou notes ect. It might inspire you.

I love this show! (Oh, my kids do, too!) If it were me, I would do this or another "young" theme for my 2year old. By the time they turn four, they will be telling you what kind of cake they want, and you won't get to put the "cute" stuff like this on them anymore! I would wait and do Spongebob when they're older. They'll still like that show, whereas they probably wouldn't want Miss Spider after a couple more years.
Good luck!

You are right. I probably will. THis is such a cute show... I taped the episode of the "Dribble Dell Singers" where Pansy wants to sing but her twin sister sings better. You know, the one where they sing:
Bu-Bu-Bu-Bu Buterflies
La-La-La-La Ladybugs
etc..
Anyway, I still have a few months to plan this week, so I am sure I will come up with something cute...
Thanks!

I have seen a miss spider cake, it was done, I believe, covered in fondant, two seperate round cakes, one for the head, one for the body... I will see if I can find the picture of it. It was really cute!
The 3D sports ball pan is a good idea too! You could use a stryofoam ball for the head, and cover it in fondant, and use the cake for the body... maybe set it on a round/sheet cake decorated to look like grass or the tree they live in or something like that.

Not really cake ideas. I didn't read all of this but here is a site with party planning tips for this theme.

Here is another site I love!

you can look thru the ideas or search for a theme.

Hi there,
I remembered reading your post and ran across this when I was looking for something else. You might be looking for something different, but just thought I would post it anyway.
Disclaimer: I did not do this cake. I found it on the internet.

Hope it might help!
