I was wondering if some of you who have done this before could give me some suggestions on how many cookies i should take to the Fall Festival at a local school? I have been asked to provide cookies for them to sell..the cookies will sell for 1.00 each and the club that is selling them will get .25 for each cookie that is sold. I just dont know how many to send. The school is a small private school with only about 300 students in grades pre-k through 12 . Ive never done this before and i dont want to over do it and be left with tons of cookies left over. oh and the festival is Sat. and i have already made 1 batch of cookies and have have 1 batch ready to be rolled and baked as soon as i finish the 2 cakes that i have to have for Friday...( i think im in deep water this week )

Btw the cookies will be the same as i posted in the october cookie theme post...pumpkins, ghost and kitty kats.

Thanks yall

i've never done cookies before but i've done caramel apples and i usually make enough for about two per student because our fall festival is after school so the students bring their parents along. and what we do is if there are a lot left at about an hour before the end of the festival, we sell them at a discount or in groups. hth.

Are you the only one supplying cookies? Surely they don't expect you to provide 600 cookies?! Are you being paid? Isn't there someone from the school who can give you some idea what has sold at past festivals? I would want more information before I spent the rest of the week baking and decorating cookies! Or I'd provide a bunch of non-decorated cookies that are easier to crank out.

Let's hope they have asked others to make cookies, first off.
Next, I'm sure (depending on size and how you bag them) they would only expect you to make maybe 2-3 dozen. If they are selling for $1, I'd bag them individually for presentation. Don't overstress yourself!

tayesmama - thanks! i have a few of their t-shirts too. my hubby and my son have tees as well. i just love the humor in it!

TiffTurtle - i would definitely agree in advising you to ask about past cookie sales. but seeing as you don't have too much time to do that i would just make as many as i could stomach without stressing yourself out. since its a festival there's sure to be lots of other food there and if you run out of cookies then at least you won't have to worry about having extras! and as a bonus - the food that runs out at our school festival is always what is remembered the next year!

Thanks yall...im sorry that it has taken me so long to get back to this post but i spent allday yesterday and today baking and decorating...so far i have managed to get about 95-100 cookies and thats gonna be it. (im still decorating just taking a break now ) as far as i know there is no one that is making anything even close to what i have, they tend to have more crafty stuff at their festival ( strange i know ) so im hoping that they will all go, plus kids tend to like them hehe. To top it all off i agreed to make 2 cakes for them to auction off ( ill be glad when this weeks over...)
