Oh boy what did I get myself into this keg boy was a pain covering it in fondant in sections was worse! then it looks slanted! I choose its best angle to be the front of the cake. Later as I was painting it with silver luster dust some of it dripped on the "A" for "Aged" darn me for rushing! the back looks more crooked only becasue the stripe of fondant going down the cake covering the seams is not straight, anyways I thought it wasn't looking silver until I went to the computer and came back and it looks silver enough. Anyways 8" 4 layers doctored devil's food and chocolate buttercream covered in fondant. Edible image and letters I took the idea from cakeconfections my hat is off to her she is talented my cake is a bad replica of it. Ok so critique away and by the way the cake looks how much is my cake worth not how much it would be worth if "skill decorator" made it. My cake is worth what?
I hope I never have to do this again!
I like it! How much luster dust did it take you to paint that entire keg? That stuff is not cheap.
Not a lot I bought 3 bottles of CK tiny bottles and I used like a 1/4 of the bottle and spilled some of course Did use almost a half a jar of lemon extract
I think it looks great. Job well done. I havenot ventured into covering an entire cake with fondant yet--just seems intemidating.
Great job - I haven't tackled fondant or luster dust yet. Not a lot of time to practice.
